Every reader loves a bookfest and Boonah Bookfest is one of the best! Every year over 20,000 books - plus games, CDs and DVDs – are sorted and displayed by Boonah & District Cultural Foundation volunteers. Donations are accepted at Boonah Library where they are collected in anticipation of a favourite event.
Proceeds go to purchase resources for the library. They also support workshops and other community cultural activities.
It’s another good reason to visit Boonah, heart of the beautiful Scenic Rim. https://www.visitscenicrim.com.au/
Boonah Bookfest is held at the Boonah Cultural Centre on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 November – 8.30am to 1pm.
BDCF members are invited to a preview night where they have first pick of the books, mingle and enjoy a drink and nibbles. There are lots of advantages to being a member so well worth joining. Membership details and application form available here.
Another great recycling event is the Community Clothes Swap, held on Saturday 5 November at the same venue.
Find the Boonah Bookfest on Facebook here.
I'm always next door volunteering at the Community Clothes Swap during this event Julie. Both events are wonderful initiatives to keep goods circulating throughout the community, and to help mitigate the high cost of living impacting so many people these days.
